Mario
Known for his effortless cuts, exacting techniques and warm attentiveness, Mario Diab has long been sought after by those “in the know”. Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, Mario discovered a love for haircutting at the age of 16, then moved to Paris where he honed his craft at the famed Carita Paris salon and quickly-became a trusted hairstylist for the Elite Model Agency. After making a name for himself in the worlds of fashion, theater and television, Mario’s talent took him to Dubai, Washington, DC and finally, New York City.
In 2007, Mario opened his namesake salon in SoHo, New York, instantly becoming a downtown destination for locals and visitors alike. Never one to chase trends, he cuts, colors and styles each client’s hair to flatter their features and fit their lifestyle. “When someone sits down in my chair, I think about what will best suit their face shape, their style and their overall look,” says Mario. “I love bringing out the best in people and elevating them to look better.”
Mario’s work is featured in Bobbi Brown’s best-selling book, Living Beauty, and he has shared his expertise with publications including OK, Redbook, New York Weddings, Gotham, Delta SKY and more. Celebrity clients include Kelly Ripa, Salma Hayek and Lorraine Bracco as well as high-profile personalities such as Laura Bush, Vera Wang and Princess Alexandra of Kent, to name a few.
Mario is available at his NYC salon located in the iconic Flatiron district at 50 West 17th Street, 5th Floor, Suite 24 by appointment only on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. He is also available for private appointments in Westchester and the surrounding area.
